One step forward, hopefully only one step back!

I really do want to be able to work with Indy with sheep a few times a week, and even that is really not enough for a good solid education (mine) but we seem to only be managing once a week, no matter what my intentions are :). Last week seemed like a step back… She was blowin’ me off, not listening, moving with unnecessary speed and putting way, way too much pressure on the sheep.

We are back to using the fence as an aid. I asked Ray to work with her a bit, and she was still being punkish, which is not like Indy… usually.

I do love her enthusiasm, but she now has to learn respect the sheep and keep the pressure OFF unless needed! I do not take this lightly, the sheep are living animals, I want to make sure that no harm comes to them along with no unnecessary roughness or stress.

Sigh, looks like getting the ducks was not enough… now I am considering a few sheep.
